PHOTOSYNTHESIS
Plants use light energy to make glucose.
Carbon dioxide + water → glucose + oxygen
Light and chlorophyll are needed.
RESPIRATION
Cells release energy from glucose.
Glucose + oxygen → carbon dioxide + water
This is aerobic respiration.
Plants respire during the day and at night.
Photosynthesis needs light. Respiration does not.
