What makes a reaction faster?

Read the text version
Reacting particles must collide with enough energy.
HIGHER TEMPERATURE
Particles move faster. More collisions can cause a reaction.
HIGHER CONCENTRATION
More reacting particles in the same volume.
SMALLER PIECES
More surface is exposed, for the same mass of solid.
A CATALYST
Speeds up a reaction without being used up overall.
Faster does not always mean more final product.
